JARDIN JOSETTE: AUTHENTIC CAMPING (mini-report)

Discover Jardin Josette: an ecological campsite in the enchanting French Ardennes, just 20 km across the Belgian border. This small-scale paradise, managed by Joske Kinnaer, was born from a dream that she brought to reality within just one year.

There is only one communal area with electricity in the barn, encouraging guests to be energy efficient. Waste separation and the use of organic produce are the norm, and the grounds are shared with local flora and fauna. To further minimise environmental impact, they also use dry toilets.

After 12 years of ecological living, her brother's influence as a globalist-journalist and an original dream to provide development aid in Nepal, she chose to start her own ecological campsite first. Despite challenges in Granada and the Pyrenees, she eventually found an enchanting piece of land here in the French Ardennes, acquired with a friend three years ago, and persevered to realise her vision.

At Jardin Josette, it's all about reconnecting with nature. Here you can enjoy green nature and the company of local animals, which reduces stress and raises happiness hormones. It is camping in its purest form, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Cooking together outdoors, with a good glass of wine, gives you time to create precious memories with your family and friends.

The campsite offers six spacious pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, as well as sustainable rental accommodation all situated on a private plot of almost 5 hectares, surrounded by picturesque hills and lush forests. What makes Jardin Josette truly unique is its deep commitment to ecological awareness.

And what about the future? Jardin Josette continues to pursue further ecological improvements, such as sustainable water management, energy generation and even the construction of a natural swimming pond.
